Chapter One :Chapter 1

"Darn it! Are you blind or something?!"

"Why does Zhou Meng who ruined my life get to live such a carefree life, and why?!"

"The world is unjust; evil people live long lives. I despise this cruel world!"

Tang Ning floated at the top of the mountain, her lower body dripping with blood, and her complexion as pale as a wall.

She pointed at the sky and cursed, venting the resentment she had held for decades.

She was dead, murdered, and had been dead for decades!

Zhou Meng, her tormentor, lived a life of glory and prosperity. On the other hand, she, as a ghost, remained in the tragic form she had at death, wandering between heaven and earth for decades.

Seeing her adversary rising high with the space bracelet she stole from her own hands, becoming a renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist under the wind of reform and opening-up, she was so resentful that she longed to resurrect.

Cursing whatever she liked, taking a few rests in between to keep on cursing, she reminisced about her short and miserable life.

Tang Ning lived in the 1970s, an educated youth sent down to the countryside, who was drugged and raped by the local thug, Sun Baoqing.

At the time, she didn't even know that Sun Baoqing was drugging her, and though Zhou Meng wasn't the initiator, she was still implicated.

Back then, she regarded Zhou Meng as a close friend and savior.

After Sun Baoqing had humiliated her and forcibly tried to marry her off, she managed to get a message to Zhou Meng.

She gave Zhou Meng the thirty yuan she had saved from frugal living, pleading with her to report the incident.

Who would have known Zhou Meng not only didn't help her report the case but even told the village people that she had been involved with Sun Baoqing for a while and willingly gave herself to him.

After hearing this, the villagers cursed her for having no shame, as she flirted with the men in the village simply because she couldn't stand the harshness of life. Yet at the same time, they urged her to marry into the Sun family in order to save the reputation of their team.

Tang Ning attempted to run away, but was caught and brought back.

A month later, she fainted and was shocked to find out that she was pregnant, and she was immediately plunged into despair.

She wanted to abort the baby, but she was left alone and helpless. She could only pretend to be compliant to temporarily deceive the Sun family.

In the third month, she had gained the trust of the Suns. She wanted to find a chance to leave, but was watched and exposed by Zhou Meng.

Zhou Meng led the widowed man to the Sun's residence, intending to ruin Tang Ning's reputation and to put the Suns on guard against her.

The widower, as soon as he entered, attempted to force himself on Tang Ning. In the midst of her struggle, she was discovered by Sun Baoqing.

Sun Baoqing was filled with rage, thinking she had been unfaithful; he beat her to death.

Tang Ning fell in a pool of blood. She died with her unborn child, with her eyes wide open even in death.

Even after her death, no one from her family came to collect her body. Her soul did not disperse, drifting aimlessly in the world.

It was not until she saw Zhou Meng cursing her behind her back that Tang Ning learned that her own death was orchestrated by her good friend Zhou Meng.

The root cause was nothing but jealousy.

She also saw that after her death, Sun Baoqing went to jail for the crime of murder. The Sun family was under scrutiny because of this incident. Sun Baoqing's two brothers fled far away from home and died in a foreign land. The old mother of the Sun family fell ill and was helpless.

As for the old widower, he got drunk once and fell into the river where he drowned.

They all got what they deserved, but Zhou Meng did not.

After her death, Zhou Meng used the guise of being a best friend to collect her heirlooms from the Sun family. She then married the third son of the village accountant, Shen Qing. The couple had two sons and a daughter, leading a harmonious family life.

Among Tang Ning's heirlooms, there was a high-quality emerald bracelet, a memento from her grandmother. As soon as it fell into Zhou Meng's hands, Zhou Meng prepared to sell it on the black market.

However, accidentally cutting her finger and dropping blood on it, she activated the array on the jade bracelet, revealing a hidden mysterious space within it.

And so, taking advantage of this golden opportunity, Zhou Meng began her way to prosperity - her life took an unexpected but delightful turn.

Tang Ning watched as the person who hurt her not only went unpunished but also was living a good life with the things she stole.

Suddenly filled with resentment and anger, she became a vengeful ghost, seeking retribution from Zhou Meng.

However, an unseen force suddenly appeared and prevented her wrongdoing.

All she could do was helplessly watch Zhou Meng doing business, going to university, moving to a big city, and gradually reaching the peak of her life.

Dragging her bloody body, Tang Ning wandered between heaven and earth for decades.

She watched as Zhou Meng became a businesswoman, pretended to be charitable, and became a renowned philanthropist.

On the day when Zhou Meng returned home in splendid clothes, Tang Ning saw her in her lavish attire, pursued and praised by countless villagers for her kind heart and foreseen blessings.

Moreover, Tang Ning saw another familiar face, her foster sister Tang Yi.

Tang Yi was dressed as affluent as Zhou Meng, wearing a lambskin coat, a diamond necklace, and high heels.

The two stood together, chatting joyfully while casually lamenting the unfortunate fate of Tang Ning - whom they referred to as an unlucky cannon fodder.

It was only then that Tang Ning learned the truth.

Turns out she was drugged and raped by Sun Baoqing years ago, with her adopted sister, Tang Yi, being the one who orchestrated the vile act.

Her soul had been wandering for so many years, only learning the identity of another enemy at this very moment.

Tears of blood fell from Tang Ning's eyes. After another failed attempt to exact revenge on her enemies, Tang Ning pointed her finger accusingly at the heavens, venting all her resentment and anger.

As soon as she finished cursing, the sky suddenly changed, brewing a storm.

The thunder roared incessantly, sounding like explosions next to one's ear.

Exhausted from cursing, Tang Ning watched the lightning in the sky with wide-open eyes.

"Really? The Heavens can be this petty?"

"I've been virtuous and good all my life, yet this is the outcome? Can’t I even curse you for a instance? Do you need to scare me like this?”

“You wouldn’t let me have vengeance, yet allowed those two who wronged me to live comfortably. Isn’t this unfair?”

Rumble!

The thunder became louder.

Tears welled up in Tang Ning's eyes as she felt wronged, “You’re even getting angry!”

The Heavens: ...

Sigh…

A faint sigh could be heard in the distance.

A lightning bolt as thick as a baby's arm tore through the clouds, striking the mountaintop directly.

Shock nearly popped Tang Ning's eyes out of her head.

Surely not? She had merely vented her frustration, yet the heavens actually sent down lightning to strike her?

Such pettiness from the heavens was astounding!

Soon, she was stunned into unconsciousness by the thunderbolt.

Unbeknownst to her, a beam of white light flashed across her soul after she passed out...
